While traveling through Asia Herman Beck came up with the idea for Spencer Beck Leather. He envisioned starting a company that supplied high-end leather products to the global market. The concept and plans for the company were written up in the Grand Hyatt Hotel Hong Kong in February 2006 with his then partner, and now wife Cindy Spencer. The two self-financed the project, hired two prominent fashion designers to design the first collections and then located a small leather boutique to begin production.  The first samples came out of production in May of 2006. The entire present collection was completed by September of the same year…. and as they say in business the rest is history.

The concept behind Spencer Beck Leather is quite simple: design leather bags that use soft supple leather, innovative designs with distinctive accessories and offer the products to the market at an attainable price point. The ultimate goal is to create life-style brand offering a wide-array of products to the market through several different distribution channels- online, retail and mail order catalog. The products available on this site will be available in select stores in 2^nd and 3^rd quarter 2007. Our first catalog will publish around the same time.
